We serve God by serving others; Me serving you; You serving others; Others serving Others
Experience a real God for your real life. You don't have to have it all figured out before you come to Him. God loves you right where you are, and we want our church to be a place where you truly experience His love.
Connect in relationship with God and others. We believe life is meant to be lived in close community with our Creator and the ones He created. Our focus is on helping you connect with and grow closer to God so that you might connect with and grow closer to our community of believers.
We are a Ministry of humble beginnings, starting off in space at a local Fire Company offering free soup, sandwich and “talk”. We believe that WordUP, which stands for God’s Word, can lift people up, encourage and guide them. We didn’t want to just feed them soup and sandwiches, we wanted to feed them spiritually.
Fast Forward 2018….God opened a door at a local business, Dutchland Inc. when they offered the upstairs of their Corporate Center for our use. To make it possible to use the location as a church, we approached the Sadsbury Township Officials and they supported the Zoning change. During that time we continued to hold our monthly Soup, Sandwich and Talk (SS&T) events at the Gap Fire Hall as well as prepare for our move to our new location and starting a church. Buck’s inspiration for WordUP came from Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. The Holy Spirit reminded Buck of this Scripture, that God wants to do a new thing. For him, and for WordUP, Buck believes this is the new thing.
Buck is our pastor, but he is taking a different title…lead follower. Christ is the Shepherd, he’s going to be the lead follower and other people that come will be the followers. Putting together a new church is a big task and there are a lot of people to thank but First and foremost to thank is our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, for all that He’s done.
We believe that the gospel of Christ is the hope of the world, and it's the heart of the church to bring that hope to others. This belief is the foundation of our church and informs all we preach, teach, and practice.
Buck and his wife Verna have two adult children and three grandchildren. His leadership style is focused on serving others for Jesus. Buck and Verna’s passion is to establish WordUP as a life-serving body of people who desire to serve one another and their community.
